Fr Jose Changanacherry’s installation as the new Provincial took place on 24 June during the Holy Eucharist held at Premal Jyoti, Ahmedabad. A good number of Jesuits represents parts if the province were present. The outgoing provincial Fr Keith Abranches expressed his gratitude to everyone in the province. Fr Changa, who shoulders this responsibility for the second time – he was provincial from 1989 to 1995, in a plain-speaking homily, shared the challenges and concerns that face him. He insisted that everyone in the province must contribute his best to the effective ministry and growth of the province
